Welcome to Grade 3A
Grade 3A Parents,
Welcome back to another school year! Grade 3 is a special year, a year when your child gets to be the ‘senior’ primary student and demonstrate their leadership skills to the younger primary students. This year should bring a new confidence across all their academic and social skills.
A quick introduction:
It is with great pleasure that I return to the classroom after many years working in Learning Support and the administration departments of the school. I have been an educator and parishioner at Star of the Sea School and Parish for over 30 years. It is a full circle moment for me to return to a primary classroom where I began my teaching career. I have taught Grades 2-5 throughout my career and have learned many lessons from my students.
Star of the Sea Parish has also been home to my family. I have a wonderful husband who is also an active member of our parish and together we have raised three sons, all who have attended Star of the Sea school. Now that our sons are grown up, two of which are married, it is a wonderful time for me to return to my teaching roots and connect more closely with students and parents.
Staying connected:
My experience has taught me that the school year will fly by quickly. It is very important that both you and your child feel connected to the school and know what is happening. Please ensure that you have registered on our school website to receive all the updates and calendar events from the office.
As well, we will have our own Gr. 3A website that will keep you updated on our specific class events and ongoing learning. I will also email any quick updates as necessary through class emails.
I look forward to meeting you all soon at our Meet the Teacher evening on September 13th.
