Welcome Back Message from PEC

On behalf of the Parish Education Committee, I would like to welcome you back to Star of the Sea School.  It is obvious from morning drop offs, the children are happy to be back.  If you are like me, you may have thought this day would never come.

I appreciate the amount of discernment each parent undertook in deciding how their children would return to school.  These are challenging times for our families.  Sending our children to school this year is unlike any other year.  Our school is blessed with dynamic and adaptable teachers and staff, who are continuing to find creative ways to enhance the students' learning in this new climate.  With God's guidance and grace, the children will learn, continue their walk with God and foster resilience.

The school experience has also changed the manner in which we interact with each other.  Pick ups and drop offs are no longer a social hub.  We will not see as many of each other at mass or school gatherings.  As a community we need to find new ways to connect with each other, the school and our faith.  The PEC is committed to finding new ways to stay connected.  If you have any ideas, please feel free to share them with me.

It is my prayer that our community will continue to support our school, parents and parish.   One of the byproducts of connection will be deeper roots for our children in their sense of self, respect for others and themselves, and their capacity to understand God's  never ending love for them as His children.

Your health and safety remain in my prayers.

Lauren
