Recorder Practice - need help?
So…somebody invented this tube you blow through that makes noise and decided to give it to kids to give their families a headache and called it a recorder. Your child should be practicing nightly at this point to learn the notes B, A, and G.
These are the top three holes, along with the thumb covering the back hole. B is the top hole. A is the top two holes, and G is the top three holes. The left hand is to be used to play these notes and the right hand supports the bottom.
The breathing technique is to blow the word “too” or “doo”.
If your child is having difficulty, please send them to ask me (Mr. Mak) for help as I used to teach recorder and am happy to help them get on the right track.
When it starts sounding like music I hope the headaches will go away!!
PS - Kudos to Mr. Band who listens to 30 students at a time for 30 minutes!
