Covid Situation Report From Mr. Borkowski
Parents and Friends of Star of the Sea School,
I just wanted to give you a quick update on how things are going with Covid-19 at Star of the Sea School.
Overall, we have had an excellent start to 2022. While some students are away sick, we have not seen any spike in absenteeism caused by illness. Fraser Health has thresholds they called “activity signals” that would warrant a variety of responses. On this day we are not near any of those thresholds.
As you are well aware, the BCCDC continues to change and update testing protocols and isolation requirements. I will not attempt to serve as the conduit for that information as it can change so rapidly. The best advice to to go to the BCCDC website for the latest details.
If what the majority of experts seem to be saying is correct, we are moving into the final phase of the pandemic. While there is hope in this, we must remain diligent in never sending sick kids to school. This has always been the case since before the pandemic, but covid has highlighted just how important it is. Keeping sick kids home is best for everyone. As a school, we will continue to send children with symptoms home as required.
Thank you for your continued support and prayers. I am so proud of the positivity and community spirit we have maintained throughout the past year and a half. I can’t wait to see what’s next!
Sincerely,
Mr. Jason Borkowski
