Cheering on Cops for Cancer
On Tuesday, September 15, Star of the Sea will once again welcome the incredible riders from Cops for Cancer Tour de Valley as they make their way through our school parking lot!
Cops for Cancer is a partnership between first responders and the Canadian Cancer Society that raises funds for life-saving pediatric cancer research and programs supporting children with cancer and their families. The riders dedicate countless hours to training and fundraising as they travel through communities across the Fraser Valley, helping raise awareness and hope along the way.
One of the programs supported through Cops for Cancer is Camp Goodtimes, a special camp experience for children and families affected by childhood cancer. At Camp Goodtimes, children and teens can simply be kids, enjoying activities, building friendships, and connecting with other families who understand what they are going through, all while having access to appropriate medical support.
Let's show our support!
💙 Bring a cash donation of $2 or more on Monday, September 14 (or September 15).
👕 Wear your school gym strip on Tuesday, September 15.
📣 Bring your biggest cheers and encouragement when the riders arrive!
A small donation may seem like a simple gesture, but together our school community can make a meaningful difference for children and families facing childhood cancer.
We look forward to lining the parking lot, cheering loudly, and reminding these amazing riders that Star of the Sea is behind them every kilometre of the way!
Let's ride with them in spirit and help Cops for Cancer make a difference! 🚴♀️🚴♂️💛
