Before and After School Routines
As we begin a new school year, we want to share some important reminders about before and after school routines. These guidelines help ensure safety, order, and a smooth start and end to each day. Thank you for working with us to make school transitions positive for all students.
Morning Drop-Off
Supervision begins at 8:30 am. For safety reasons, students may not be dropped off before this time, as staff are not available to supervise.
On good-weather days, students will line up at their designated blacktop spot when they arrive. There is no free-play time before school begins.
The first bell rings at 8:55 am. Classes enter together at this time.
Late Arrivals: Students who arrive after their class has gone inside will be considered late. They must enter through the main doors and check in with the supervisor on duty before joining their class.
Drive-Through Drop-Off System
The Drive-thru drop-off line is on the east side of the school parking lot. Please do not park on the east side of the lot at any time before school. If you need to park, please reverse-stall park on the west side of the lot or in the church parking lot.
Here are a few guidelines to help our drop-off procedures go smoothly:
🚗 Stop and Hop: Students should be ready to exit quickly and independently with belongings in hand.
🚫 No Trunk Access: Items should be kept inside the vehicle with your child, not in the trunk.
🚶 Stay in Your Vehicle: Drivers must remain inside their cars. If you need to assist your child, please park in a designated stall.
🅿️ Students may only be dropped off in the drive-through line or from a marked parking stall. Please do not drop off on 24th Avenue or along 150th Street, where stopping is prohibited.
🏡 Be a Good Neighbour: Drive slowly, avoid blocking driveways, and park respectfully on nearby streets.
Please be kind and patient with one another and our Safe Streets Volunteers during our busy morning drop-off time.
Afternoon Pick-Up
Dismissal is at 3:00 pm.
Grades K–4: Students will be dismissed on the blacktop in their lineups and should be picked up directly from there.
Grades 4 and up: Students will be dismissed to walk out on their own.
Supervisors will remain with students waiting for pickup until 3:30 pm. Please aim to be on time.
There is no afternoon drive-thru. Parents should reverse-stall park in available parking spots.
After School Play
The playground on the intermediate field is open until 4:00 pm for family use. There is no access to the primary playground on the north side of the school before or after school.
The blacktop is not available for play until all dismissal lineups have cleared.
Children staying after school to play must be directly supervised by their parent or guardian. School staff do not supervise students in play areas after dismissal.
Please note:
When sports practices or soccer games are on the field, field access will be limited.
Digging on the field is not permitted.
