Grade One Weekly News
October 5th - October 9th
Dear Grade One parents,
Thank you for taking the time out of your busy lives to join us last Monday on our virtual Google Meet session. We hope we were able to answer your questions. If you still have some queries, please email us so we can clear them up for you.
Last week sight word practise books were sent home for the first time. We hope you got a chance to practise the highlighted words with your children. When you return the booklet on Thursdays we will check these words with your child and if they can read them we will highlight 6 more and send it back home for you. Please feel free to practise more if you want and let us know what extra words you would like us to test your child on.
This week in class we will finish our work on patterns, focus on graphing work and begin to introduce the language of more/less (Pac Man) in math. In our writing books we are focusing on printing using the lines provided, spacing between words, a capital letter and a period at the end of the sentence. Thanksgiving is coming up so we will be focusing on things that we are thankful for and all things connected to Fall.
We hope you have a great week!
