Walk-a-thon is October 8th, 2021

Parents and Friends of Star of the Sea School,

I am very excited to announce our plans for Walk-a-thon 2021.

The past year has been a year of abundance and blessing at our school. We have enjoyed a new playground, new turf field, new picnic tables and benches, new interior walls, and more. This year we are going to be showing our gratitude by giving back. Star of the Sea School is partnering with CHALICE Canada, A Catholic charity serving the needy around the world, and sponsoring a school in Africa. All of the proceeds of this year’s Walk-a-thon will go towards their needs.

In addition, students from Grades K-7 will be learning about our sister school and interacting with their schoolmates across the globe. It is our hope that not only will our students be generous and give financially, but that their minds and hearts will be open to being compassionate, caring, and understanding. Our walk-a-thon will take place on school grounds this year, with a route that navigates the full perimeter of our parish property. We will start school at the usual time and dismiss at 12 noon. More details about the day will be announced in the weeks ahead.

The pledge forms will be coming home this week and can be dowloaded here. Please help out by sharing this opportunity with family and friends. Be sure that they complete the form to be eligible for a tax receipt (for donations over $20). Walk-a-thon is on October 8th, so you have just 3 weeks to get those pledges.
