Update for Temporary Transition Students

Parents of Students Who Have Selected the Temporary Transition Option,

Welcome back to school!  I want to express my deepest gratitude and understanding to you as we work our way through this pandemic together.  I am grateful that you have chosen to stay with us, albeit from home for now.  I understand your decision to keep your children at home.  Every family is in a different situation when it comes to how to handle the pandemic and I am so glad we were able to offer you a program that will give you the ability to stay connected to our school and learn from home.

You have not made an easy choice!  Although the teachers will be sending work home and meeting with the students periodically to check in and answer questions, the majority of the teaching and supervision of student work will have to be done by the parents.  Thank you for your dedication and sacrifice.

In accordance with the guidelines provided by the CISVA, we are going to provide two live meetings per week for students to meet with the teachers from their grade.  Each of these live sessions will consist of a) a faith formation experience b) teaching of a concept or lesson and c) time for students to check in and ask questions.  In addition to the teacher contact time, we will be making Educational Assistants available to offer support as needed.

On Fridays each week, teachers will provide a package to be picked up.  At that same time, parents can drop off any student worked that needs to be collected for assessment.  In many cases, pick up and drop off will become unnecessary, as most work can be assigned, submitted, and assessed through online platforms.  The first pick up of materials, which will include textbooks, workbooks, and school supplies, will be in the school foyer from 10am to 2pm on Friday, September 18th.

Online meetings will begin during the week of September 21st, although teachers will be reaching out to you before that.  You can also look forward to content sent to you directly from me, including prayer activities, school announcements, and “bonus content”.

Thank you for your patience as we roll out this new program.  Please feel free to contact me or your classroom teacher with any questions.

Sincerely,

Mr. Jason Borkowski

Principal
