Stella Maris Gala update

Dear Parents,

Our Annual Fall Gala, will take place this year on Friday, April 22nd. All funds raised benefit our school. Each year, every grade prepares a project to be auctioned off at Gala. These amazing and heartfelt creations are awarded to the highest bidder during our Live Auction.

CLASS PROJECT DONATIONS

Every year at this time, we ask for monetary donations from the families at the school to cover these Class Projects. A typical donation is usually $30.00 per family, but any amount will be gratefully accepted. Deadline for donations is Tuesday, April 8, 2022. As an added incentive, each family who makes a donation will be entered into a draw to:

Funds raised at this year’s gala will be directed to two important improvements.

First, we are focusing on upgrading our HVAC systems in our Primary classrooms. The upgrades will include the installation of Air Conditioning which will make our school a healthier and safer place for kids during our increasingly hot last Spring and early Fall months. Last year’s “heat dome” that resulted in a school closure, was a stark reminder of the urgency of future proofing our school to be able to stay open and comfortable for learning even in the face of extreme temperatures.

Our second fundraising goal includes essential updates to our Athletics program. We are excited to refresh our gym with a new layer of rubber flooring in a new colour and our school logo emblazoned at centre court. We are also updating our Basketball and Track & Field uniforms. We are excited to add to a culture of physical development, athletic excellence and school pride.

Last year’s generous contributions provided a new playground for kids to run and climb, as well as parents to get to know each other. It has provided a central gathering place for our community.
