Staffing Announcements – Farewells and New Beginnings
Staffing Announcements – Farewells and New Beginnings
As we approach the end of another school year, we take this opportunity to recognize and celebrate the many wonderful staff members who are moving on to new chapters—and to warmly welcome the new faces joining us in the fall.
Fond Farewells
After an incredible 24 years of dedicated service, Mr. David Matthew, our beloved Maintenance Coordinator, is retiring. David’s faithful stewardship of our school facilities has blessed generations of students and staff. His skill, hard work, and generous heart will be deeply missed.
We also bid farewell to Mrs. Eliza McDonald, who is retiring from teaching after 7 years at Star of the Sea. Eliza has been a constant source of warmth, wisdom, and joy in the classroom. Her legacy of care and dedication to her students will live on in the lives she’s touched.
Several Educational Assistants are also moving on from their roles this year. We thank Mrs. Rachela Cesaretti, Mrs. Jacqueline Beaudry, Mr. Brendan Lee, and Mrs. Anabella Ma for their important work in supporting student learning and well-being. Each has made meaningful contributions to our school, and we are grateful for their time with us.
We also extend our prayers and blessings to Mrs. Lauren Maxwell (Grade 2 Teacher) and Mrs. Anna Borkowski (School Counsellor) as they begin their maternity leaves. We are so excited for both families and look forward to welcoming them back in due time.
Welcome to Our New Staff
We are delighted to welcome the following new staff members to our Star of the Sea team for the 2025–2026 school year:

Mrs. Katrina Figuero – Learning Support Teacher (returned in early June)
We also warmly welcome the following new Educational Assistants:

Each of these individuals brings unique gifts and a shared enthusiasm for our mission of faith, learning, and community. We are excited to see the many ways they will bless our students and staff.
As we say goodbye to some and hello to others, we are reminded that God continues to provide abundantly for our school. Please join us in praying for all of our departing, arriving, and returning staff as they enter into new adventures.
