Special Lent Day and Outreach Opportunity
Parents and Friends of Star of the Sea School,
On Friday, March 12th we are having a special “Lent” themed non-uniform day. This day will be marked by a live-streamed Mass from the Church, an online assembly by our Grade 4 Classes, and special Lenten activities in the classrooms. As a Lenten non-uniform day, we will ask the students to wear purple, black, or even sackcloth ;)
Since Lent is a time for almsgiving, we are collecting items for The Door is Open. Each class will be given a specific item to contribute. The children are encouraged to “earn” this donation through a chore or with their own money. Making them a part of the process, rather than just doing it for them, will make it a more meaningful activity and help them grow in holiness this Lent. These items will be collected in the classroom from Monday to Thursday. The list of items is below.
Thanks for making this a special day.
Sincerely,
Mr. Jason Borkowski
Principal
