Scientist Visit in Grade One! All About Matter!

On Thursday, February 3rd, we had a “Field Trip” in our classroom!. “Magnetic Mannie” the Scientist from High Tech,High Touch visited our class to teach us about the three states of Matter- solid, liquid and gas!

We used pipettes to move water molecules, made CO2 GAS in a balloon by mixing vinegar and baking soda, and also made OOBLEK to bring home which acts as both a liquid AND a solid, based on the applied pressure!
