School Closed Due to Heat Wave on Monday, June 28th

Parents of Star of the Sea School,

As you are well aware, we are currently experiencing a once-in-lifetime heat wave. These conditions are extreme. This combined with the facts that our classrooms are not equipped with air conditioning and the government mandated “mask mandate” is still in place, it would be unfair and possibly unsafe to ask staff and students to be in the building tomorrow.

The school will be closed on Monday, June 28th. Our current plan is to be open on Tuesday, June 29th, the last day of school, from 9am to 11am. I will send out an update tomorrow.

I apologize for any inconvenience this decision will cause for families but it is the safest and most humane decision in these challenging circumstances.

Sincerely,

Mr. Jason Borkowski

Principal
