Reporting Student Absences & Early Pick-Ups: What Families Need to Know

Clear communication helps us keep all students safe and ensures our records are accurate. To support this, we ask families to follow the procedures below when reporting absences or early pick-ups.

Reporting an Absence

If your child will be away from school, please notify both the classroom teacher and the school office by email. You may email the teacher and CC the office, or email the office and CC the teacher—either option works.

Your message must include the reason for the absence, such as:

  • Illness

  • Medical or dental appointment

  • Vacation

Written absentee notices are required by our school auditor, so it’s important that absences are documented clearly and in writing.

Important reminder:
If you call the school to inform us of an absence, you will still be required to submit a written note afterward. For this reason, emailing the school office is the most efficient way to notify us.

Early Pick-Ups

If your child needs to be picked up early:

  • Please notify the school office in advance, and

  • Inform the classroom teacher as well

This helps minimize classroom disruptions and ensures your child is ready and waiting at the appropriate time.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us maintain accurate records and a safe, well-organized school day. If you have any questions about attendance procedures, the school office is always happy to help.
