Pro-Life Day – Wednesday, May 21st
Our Grade Seven leadership team is excited to be hosting Pro-Life Day at Star of the Sea on Wednesday, May 21st. Students are invited to dress down in non-uniform clothing by bringing in a $2 donation for Birthright, an organization that supports women facing crisis pregnancies.
The highlight of the day will be a school-wide assembly at 1:30 pm featuring a Reader’s Theatre performance of Horton Hears a Who! The message from the story—“a person’s a person, no matter how small”—beautifully ties into the theme of the day.
Students in Grades Six and Seven will also take part in an interactive learning session on fetal development, featuring models that show the stages of life in the womb.
It promises to be a joy-filled, meaningful, and educational day for all. Thank you for your continued support!
We invite our school community to pray with us:
Prayer for Reverence for Life
Archdiocese of Vancouver
Almighty God, giver of all that is good,
we thank You for the precious gift of human life:
For life in the womb, coming from your creative power,
For the life of children, making us glad with their freshness and promise,
For the life of young people, hoping for a better world,
For the life of people who are disabled, teaching us that every life has value,
For the life of the elderly, witnessing to the ageless values of patience and wisdom.
Like Blessed Mary, may we always say “YES” to Your gift.
May we defend it and promote it from conception to its natural end.
And bring us at last, O Father, to the fullness of eternal life in Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
