Non-standard Measurement means MATH is FUN in Grade One!

We had SO MUCH FUN during Math today! After brainstorming all the things we could use for NON-STANDARD MEASUREMENT (pic is below) the students worked with a partner or in a small group to use various classroom items to answer the question: How wide is your DESK? You can see markers, pencils, pencil boxes, blocks, dice and even a student being used to measure! The children recorded their findings and we made a brief “summary page” of what we found! Such an awesome day!
