February 14th - Ash Wednesday (Mass at 9:15), Hot Lunch
February 15th and 16th PRO-D - NO SCHOOL
February 19th - Family Day - NO SCHOOL
February 21st - 100th day of school (special in-class activities)
February 28th - Respect Day/Pink Shirt Day, Hot Lunch White Spot
Highlights of our Learning
Valentine’s Day
We will be celebrating Valentine’s in school on February 13. Sending items, cards/treats to school is not an expectation. However, if this is something you and your child wish to do, please consider the following guidelines as you make your plans.
CARDS
If you wish to share Valentine’s cards with friends, please ensure that you include one for each member of our class (there are 27 in K and 26 in KA ). Ideally, cards will not be addressed to specific people. Please leave the ‘to’ field blank and simply write ‘from___’. This will make delivery in the classroom easier for the students (and their teachers).
TREATS
Treats should be small and packaged with ingredients visible. Please do not send any homemade goodies.
VALENTINE’S ‘MAIL’ BOX
Please send a paper-covered box to school on or before Friday, February 9th (approximately cereal box size). We will be decorating these and using them as ‘mail' boxes’ to collect our Valentine’s cards/treats in the classroom.
DRESS-DOWN DAY
Students may wear Valentine’s coloured play clothes to school on February 13th. No uniform required.
COMMUNITY WORKERS
As part of our Social Studies Unit this term, we will be looking at some workers in our Community. If you are a doctor, nurse, firefighter, police officer or dentist, and would like to do a short presentation on your job, please contact your child’s teacher with dates and times in February you are available.
Progress Report Folders
Please remember to return the folder your child’s progress report was in as well as the signed parent response form as soon as possible.
New Kindies Looking Ahead Day
Tuesday, May 21st will be our Looking Ahead Day for our 2024-2025 kindergarten students. As a result, there will be no school for our current kindergartens on that day. All other grades will be in session.
