Grade Two's Making a Difference in their Community!

Today, instructors from the City of Surrey's Salmon Habitat Restoration Program taught us the importance of keeping pollution out of the storm drains.

After learning about the salmon habitat and the need to keep the environment safe, students went out into the community to make a difference. With the help of their chaperones, they followed a map to the storm drains and painted yellow salmon near them. The yellow salmon is meant to create awareness and to keep the drains free of contamination.

The students had a great time and felt good about their contribution to the community and to the salmon!
