Grade 5 Update: March 10th
Hi, Parents!
It’s almost Spring Break and time is flying by! Here are some highlights from Grade 5 from the past several weeks:
We continued with some geometry art where students were challenged with creating a pattern using a shape of their choice.
Over the past five weeks, we have had a guest speaker, author Lee Edward Fodi, lead the students in various writing workshops using a wizard school theme. Thank you to Mrs. Eggertson for putting up this incredible display!
In Science, the students did a lab in which they observed plant growth over a few weeks. They compared the growth of plants that were watered with fresh water and some plants that were watered with water containing sodium phosphate. I think that is the most I’ve ever used the word “water” in one sentence. Points off for redundancy.
As many of you know, we took a trip to space…sort of. Students took workshops on minerals and geology and had the chance to explore some cool exhibits. Here are some photos from our trip to the H. R. MacMillan Space Centre.
And, of course, it’s Lent. We have already started rehearsing for the Passion Play! After Spring Break, we will continue to practice and work hard to be ready for Holy Thursday. Stay tuned for more info on that. In the meantime, here is some more art to close this update:
I hope you all have a great Spring Break!
