Fall Days in Grade Two

Fall has been an exciting and enriching season in Grade Two! Our class has explored nature, deepened our understanding of life cycles, celebrated meaningful traditions, and enjoyed a mix of fun, creativity, and reflection. Here’s a look at some of the highlights from our fall learning journey.

🐟 Exploring Life Cycles Through Salmon Studies

This term, students learned all about the salmon life cycle—egg, alevin, fry, smolt, and adult. We enhanced our understanding through hands-on activities, class discussions, and beautiful art pieces. A highlight of our study was the field trips. Our trip to A Rocha allowed students to observe real salmon habitats up close and make meaningful connections between classroom learning and the natural world. The Salmon Tracks field trip gave students the chance to paint salmon on storm drains to raise awareness about keeping local water clean.

👻 Spooky Science: Halloween Animal Encounter

Halloween brought an extra thrill to our classroom! Students met some spooky and fascinating creatures during our special animal visit. They learned about habitats, adaptations, and unique traits while experiencing the excitement of seeing these animals up close. It was equal parts creepy and amazing!

❤️ Honouring Remembrance Day

In November, we paused to reflect on Remembrance Day and the importance of peace. Students listened thoughtfully, created respectful art, and shared meaningful conversations about gratitude and remembering those who served. It was a beautiful moment of reflection for our class community.
