Community Building Events to put on Your Calendar
Parents and Friends of Star of the Sea School,
Our school is more than just a place where children are sent to learn the academic basics. We are a community in which children grow and learn in the context of our faith, family, and friends. Being a community means more than just saying the words, it means being together and doing things together.
Open House/Pancake Breakfast/Kids Market
Our community is celebrating what we hope is a HUGE community event on Sunday, February 12th. After both the 9am and 11am Masses, we will host our first ever Kids Market (with 63 vendors signed up) along with a Community Pancake Breakfast and School Open House. We ask that all students come to one of the two Masses in uniform with their families and join us after at the school for lots of community fun.
In addition to building a sense of community, we want to help our community grow. Please invite your family and friends to join us for the day. As an added incentive, any Star of the Sea Students that bring a friend from outside of the school will receive a small gift from Mr. Borkowski.
Stella Maris Gala
The Annual Stella Maris Gala will take place on April 22nd. Tickets go on sale February 1st. Visit the Gala Instagram page for more information.
“Sexuality and Your Child” Parent Meeting
We are hosting a parent education evening on Wednesday, April 26th. We will be presenting “Screenagers”, a documentary of the impact of the digital age and social media on our youth. More information is coming, including a letter of invitation and expectation of participation from Archbishop Miller. As parents we need to work and learn together in order to raise a community of children with integrity, empathy, and values in alignment with our families and faith. Please mark your calendar for this important event.
Family BBQ and Annual General Meeting
Like last year, we will be combining our AGM with a community BBQ for the whole family. Please mark this event on your calendar for Thursday, June 1st.
