CISVA Spelling Bee

Our school will be participating in the CISVA Spelling Bee, a fun academic program that promotes lifelong literacy and learning for students in Grades 4-7. If your child would like to participate in the program, please complete the permission slip below by January 16, 2024.

There will be two spelling bees held at the school level, one written (March 5), one in-school verbal bee (April 4).

Practices will be held in school at lunch on the following Tuesdays from 12-12:30 (Gr. 4 & 6 students bring your lunch):
January 23 – practice word list provided
February 6 – in school practice
February 20 – in school practice

The following dates are also important to note:
March 5 – In-school written bee (to determine top 10 finalists for school-wide verbal bee)
April 4 (after lunch) – School-wide verbal bee
April 30 – CISVA Spelling Bee

The top speller of the school will then move on to the CISVA Spelling Bee which will be held at one of our CISVA schools (TBA) on April 30, 2024. Mrs. Figueroa and Mrs. MacGillivray are excited to be working with the students in this year’s CISVA Spelling Bee.
