Christmas Message from Mr. Borkowski
Families of Star of the Sea School,
The most common phrase in the Bible is “be not afraid.” As Covid news continues to dominate our lives, let us resist the inclination to despair and live in fear.
Fear is not what God wants for us. He sent his only Son at Christmas so that we no longer need to be afraid. As St. Paul writes in his Letter to the Ephesians, “I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” We should never live in fear. We are Christians!
While the end of 2021 was not what we all hoped for or expected, let’s focus on what really matters. We have our families and our God. God is our foundation and our families are our first point of contact with the love and joy that God intends for our lives. We must treasure these gifts and keep our relationships alive and active.
I urge you to stay connected with your family and your faith this Christmas season. If your health allows, please bring your children to Mass on all Holy Days ahead. Remind your children repeatedly, as we have done here at school, of the real Christmas story and what it means in their lives. They need to feel the love of their parents and their God now more than ever.
Thank you so much for your joy, participation, expressions of gratitude, and support for Star of the Sea School this year. It is an honour to serve this community and a joy to spend each day with your children. May God bless us all and may we have a Christmas filled with joy and peace.
Sincerely,
Mr. Jason Borkowski
