Ash Wednesday Reminders

Next Wednesday, March 2nd, is Ash Wednesday. Here are a few reminders about things happening that day on which we mark the start of the season of Lent:

1) Hunger Lunch- as part of the Hot Lunch program, families had the opportunity to order a simple bun for lunch. If you did not order the lunch, you are encouraged to send a simpler lunch than usual. Fasting in this way is a form of prayer and sacrifice that is meant to remind us of our need for God.

2) School Masses- To avoid exceeding the Church’s 50% Covid restriction capacity limit, we will have two Ash Wednesday Masses; 11am for Primary and 1pm for Intermediate. Parents are welcome to join us for Mass. Students will receive ashes on their foreheads as a reminder of our need to repent during the Lenten season.

3) Uniforms- to honour the solemnity of this important day, ALL STUDENTS, regardless of whether or not they have PE that day, are asked to wear their full school uniform. Students will not change for PE that day, but will just put on their runners for PE class.
